Hello, neighbors and friends. I'm Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this B&W anti-rattle clamp for your 2 1/2 inch hitch receivers. Now folks, an anti-rattle device is gonna keep your hitch mount accessory from making all those rattle noises. It's also gonna deter any kind of sway and slop inside that hitch receiver. It works great with ball mounts, tow bars, and even hitch mount accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers.
It is a super fast and easy installation. Comes with four parts here plus the included wrench. You got the set screw here. You got the main body here. You got these two blocks.
This one has the threads in it, and little dog ears, as I'm calling them. And this guy here, so if you notice, where I got my sticker up here, that guy's a little bit taller than that bottom one. So on the 2 1/2 inch option, you want that taller one to be on top per the instructions. Slide that guy in there. You slide this over the ball mount.
You slide this guy in. And then from the bottom under the hitch receiver itself, you would thread this bolt in there, and that would tighten everything up, and this would be pushed this way, and it'd be a nice, tight, anti-rattle, holding everything in place device. So again, this works with a 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch hitch receivers only. It is durable. It's been plated steel construction, should not corrode or rust on you.
And one thing also to note is not compatible with the Tow and Stow ball mounts by B&W, and the Multipro tailgate reducer sleeves, or any weight distribution hitch whatsoever. Fast Shipping and great communications
It works great as long as the locking bolt stays tight , it seems to like to come loose a lot and creates a horrible rattle. I’m pretty sure during Christmas it was singing jingle bells on the back of my truck. I don’t think the bolt is long enough to get securely tight .
Love it. Blends in nice with my sexy weigh safe hitch.

Highway runs, it's Excellent. Offroad, it tends to slip and you begin to feel that little lag. Over all I give it a 4.5 out of 5.
I installed this on my 2 1/2” ProPride hitch along with a set of Rock Tamer guards. It fits and reduces the up and down throw about 90%. A big improvement. I have not road tested it and I think it may not be heavy enough to withstand bending during long hauls. Time will tell.

A year later I have had to discard the device. It would become loose after a while and require tightening. At first I thought it was the bolt backing out. But in reality it was the leveraging armature being bent by the road pounding over time. Ultimately it bent so far as to be unusable with the current bolt length. Longer bolts just bent it farther. The armature lever needs a steel brace to prevent bending. My stars have gone down to zero. I have since replaced it with a different design by have not tested it yet.

Dang, sorry to hear that CK (even if it was festive rattling). Have you tried using a longer bolt? This is the first time I have heard this being an issue, but I will be letting B&W know as well. They are very good at taking real world feedback.
